The suspects used some of the money earned from the burglaries to rent a Lamborghini for three days, police said.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Two men are facing criminal charges for allegedly burglarizing Valley homes and stealing $100,000 worth of kitchen appliances, police officials said.

Aiden Cornish, 22 and Trent Kennedy, 20, were taken into custody on July 23 by Scottsdale police after investigators connected them to residential burglaries reported earlier this summer. While investigating the burglaries, Scottsdale police learned of two similar burglaries reported in Paradise Valley.

The suspects were caught after a neighborhood video camera captured the suspect’s vehicle and a car matching that vehicle was seen on a photo radar camera. Police said the license plate captured on camera was traced back to Cornish.

On July 23, police allegedly observed Cornish driving a truck and trailer to a storage facility in Phoenix. He and Kennedy were taken into custody.

Kennedy allegedly told police he helped Cornish steal items from Valley homes and Cornish would sell the stolen goods. They allegedly used some of the money earned from the burglaries to rent a Lamborghini for three days, police said.

In his interview with police, Kennedy claimed Cornish would look for homes that were up for sale on real estate websites as potential homes to target, court records show.

Police later searched the Phoenix storage facility and allegedly found several stolen appliances from the burglaries in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley. The estimated total loss from the reported five burglaries is about $100,000.
