One of Clarksburg’s Busiest Streets Scheduled to See Closure Wednesday Due to Work on Utility Poles

FROM THE WEST VIRGINIA DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS, DISTRICT FOUR OFFICE

There will be road closure on County Route 20/93, South Chestnut Street, from Washington Avenue to Thorn Street, running from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, for First Energy to install new utility poles and transfer facilities to the new poles.

During this time travelers can utilize the following alternate routes for travel: West Main Street, Milford Street, Liberty Avenue, South Second Street, Van Buren Street, and Roosevelt Road.

Expect delays. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute.

Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
