ORLANDO, Fla. – The weather disturbance, that’s been partly to blame for the round of storms we saw across the state this week, continues to slide further into the Gulf.
The National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on it, but right now they’re only giving it a 10% chance of development over the next couple of days and into the week.
This area has a limited opportunity for gradual development over the next two days as it remains over the warm Gulf waters.
But by the weekend, it’ll likely move inland, which would stop any further development.
Whether or not it strengthens, it’s likely to bring heavy rain to parts of the northern Gulf Coast.
If this system does become a named storm, the next name on the 2025 hurricane list is “Dexter”.
Hurricane season runs through the end of November, so we’ve still got a way to go.
