Troy L. Cunningham, 49, is the man in question, according to a criminal complaint. Officers were dispatched to the Bridgeport BFS situated at 328 East Main Street shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Police say that Cunningham was visibly angry after staff at the convenience store would not let him “borrow” items from the store. After this, it is alleged that Cunningham pushed an employee into a wall and threatened him. As the situation escalated, Cunningham is alleged to have reached inside the register and removed cash from the drawer.
Bridgeport Police arrived as the situation was still taking place. Cunningham was taken into custody and appeared before Harrison County Magistrate Mike Weiss where bond was set at $25,000.
Cunningham is currently in the North Central Regional Jail.
