Steve Schartiger, 60 of Salem, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by those who loved him most.

Steve’s presence lit up every room. He had an infectious laugh, a larger-than-life personality, and a gift for making everyone feel like family. He was the person everyone turned to — not just for help, but for comfort, wisdom, and joy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Miranda, and their daughters, Rebecca (Jessica), Madison, Jaelynn, and Reagan; several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Slagle. Steve’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched in every life he helped save, every person he lifted up, and in the love and laughter he brought to his family and community.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home – Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 3-7PM and on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 9:00AM until time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jason Balis and Pastor J.B. Blankenship officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his Care Fund on his memorial page.
