UAE First Electric Waste Collection Truck

In collaboration with renowned industry leaders Renault Trucks Middle East and Al Masaood, the UAE capital has taken a significant step towards a net-zero future by introducing the region's first fully electric heavy truck.

Manufactured by Renault Trucks and distributed by Al Masaood, this electric truck will primarily be utilized for household waste collection in Abu Dhabi.

As the pioneer heavy truck in the Middle East, the Renault Trucks E-tech truck will undergo a pilot program to assess its performance in the capital's scorching summer temperatures. The program will also address logistical challenges, including the availability of charging stations along crucial routes.

According to a statement from the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the launch of the Renault E-Tech waste management truck reflects the UAE's and Abu Dhabi's commitment to electrified mobility strategies, positioning them at the forefront globally.

"This first-ever 100% electric waste truck in the UAE empowers Tadweer to realize its mission of establishing an integrated waste management system and achieving a circular economy," the statement highlighted.
