Vandalia Health leadership and staff joined community members, county and city officials, and donors on Monday at Pete Dye
Vandalia Health leadership and staff joined community members, county and city officials, and donors on Monday at Pete Dye Golf Club during the annual DeLynn Memorial Golf Classic to celebrate a major milestone in the construction of the new Vandalia Health Mon Harrison Neighborhood Hospital.
With a total estimated investment of nearly $30 million, the facility will bring advanced, accessible care to Harrison County and surrounding communities.
In addition to Monday’s beam signing, employees across Vandalia Health were invited to sign the beam at the hospital’s construction site on Sunday — adding their names and support to the structure that will soon house essential emergency and inpatient services for the region.
“We are excited to share this milestone in our new hospital’s construction with our employees and community members. The beam signing reflects our ongoing investment in bringing quality, personalized care directly into the neighborhoods where people live and work,” said Christopher Edwards, DO, Emergency Services Director of Mon Health System and Chief Administrative Officer for Vandalia Health Mon Marion and Mon Harrison Neighborhood Hospitals.
“From groundbreaking to steel rising, every step forward is a testament to our commitment to Harrison County and the region.”
The new hospital will feature:
• A full-service emergency department with eight treatment rooms
• Ten private inpatient rooms for short-stay care
• Advanced imaging including CT, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray and echocardiography
• On-site pharmacy and laboratory services
The second floor will remain shell space, allowing for future clinical expansion based on community needs.
“It’s incredibly meaningful to mark this milestone during the DeLynn Memorial Golf Classic — a longstanding tradition that has brought our community together to support local health care for more than two decades,” said David Goldberg, President and CEO of Mon Health System and Davis Health System–Vandalia Health Northern Region, and Executive Vice President of Vandalia Health.
“The steel beam signing not only represents the exciting progress on our new hospital but also symbolizes the strength of the partnerships and people who make this work possible. This is what community-based care looks like — neighbors, caregivers and leaders building the future of health care together.”
The hospital is the result of close collaboration between Vandalia Health, the City of Bridgeport, Harrison County Commission, Genesis Partners and other Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district stakeholders. For more information about health care at Vandalia Health, visit MonHealth.com.
