Chancellor Charles Robinson told the Board of Trustees during an annual retreat that they’re projecting over 34,000 students this fall.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville is expected to break enrollment records for a fifth consecutive year this fall, according to school officials.
Chancellor Charles Robinson gave a presentation to the UA System Board of Trustees during their annual retreat on Aug. 6, sharing that just over 34,000 students are projected to attend the U of A in Fayetteville for the Fall 2025 semester.
The university reported in Fall 2024 that 33,610 students were enrolled.
Robinson said the numbers were merely a projection, and that the number was subject to change, with more concrete data expected further into the year.
“There is a possibility that we may fall 100 short of that number or 100 over,” Robinson said.
Of those projected to attend the U of A this fall, around 7,050 are degree-seeking new freshmen, up 53% from 2019. Robinson said the university was shooting for 6,800 initially and overshot that number.
Additionally, the projected incoming freshman class is just shy of the university’s all-time record of 7,092.
Suzanne McRay, Vice Provost for Enrollment and Dean of Admissions at the U of A, told 5NEWS in 2024 that the university was keeping up with growth.
“Well, it’s always an adventure, but we have done a lot of proactive things to make sure there’s plenty of space on campus for the classes that we need, that faculty are hired to make sure that we’re offering the courses that students need, and so that part’s been great,” McCray said.
Classes in the Fall 2025 semester begin on Aug. 18, with most students expected to move in between Aug. 6 and 9.
