Short-Time Member of Bridgeport Community, Special Education Teacher, Jane Ashlyn Perkins, Passes

Jane Ashlyn Perkins, known by all as Ashlyn, was born January 28, 1965 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025 after a long, hard battle with early-onset dementia.

With the support of her loved ones, Ashlyn bravely endured the terminal diagnosis of early-onset dementia for over seven years. At the end of her life, she was diligently and compassionately cared for by the staffs of Harmony at White Oaks, Amedysis Hospice Care, and Ford Funeral Home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport. In accordance with Jane’s wishes, cremation services will occur.
