As part of the ‘Taste of Shangri-La’ campaign, diners at Shangri-La Dubai can relish the vibrant flavours of Chef Benson Peng’s Sichuan Cuisine this October

Dubai, 16 September 2024: Culinary maestro Chef Benson Peng, Head Chef of Sichuan Cuisine at Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu, is set to captivate the palates of diners at Shangri-La Dubai as a part of the hotel’s ‘Taste of Shangri-La’ campaign. Chef Peng is renowned for his mastery of bold flavours and innovative techniques and expertly balances the seven essential flavours of Sichuan cuisine: sweet, sour, numbing, spicy, bitter, fragrant, and salty. His dishes, crafted from high-quality ingredients and executed with meticulous precision, are celebrated for their rich aromas and authentic taste.

The Chef is trained under the legendary Sichuan cuisine master Zhang Zhongyou and has inherited traditional recipes while infusing them with his unique touch. One of the highlights of his visit will be his signature dish, Simmered Mandarin Fish with Vegetables and Assorted Mushroom in Spicy Chili Oil, a delicately prepared masterpiece infused with authentic Sichuan spices.

Kitchen Takeover by Chef Peng

Chef Peng will be taking over Shangri-La Dubai from the 9th to the 13th of October, offering guests a chance to immerse in the art of Sichuan cuisine.

Cooking Classes at Shang Palace:

Dive into the art of Chinese cooking with exclusive cooking classes at Shang Palace, starting at just AED 288 per person. Learn from our expert chefs and master the techniques that make Chinese cuisine so distinctive and flavourful.

Set Menus:

Guests can also choose from our thoughtfully designed set menus at Shang Palace, available starting from AED 288 to AED 388. Each menu is carefully crafted to offer an authentic taste of China, ensuring a memorable dining experience.

For those seeking a more personalized experience, an option of a la carte menu, with dishes beginning at just AED 50 is also available.

All diners at Shang Palace Dubai will also receive a 20% discount voucher for their next visit – valid for lunch or dinner for up to 8 people until December 20th, 2024.
