Pasta Cook-Off, Pasta Palooza, Part of Busy Day of Events Saturday Prepping for Italian Heritage Festival
Part of the pre-game events for Labor Day Weekend’s Italian Heritage Festival will kickoff this Saturday, August 23, at the
August 22, 2025 WOL



 


A pair of events are on tap, starting with the Pasta Cook-Off, sponsored by the Viglianco family, Saturday morning. There will be raffles and entertainment as early as 10 a.m. and a canned pepper contest, sponsored by Pinti Physical Therapy, set for 11 a.m. Also at 11 a.m., the homemade wine contest will be held as part of an event sponsored by The Spirit Shoppe.


 


The rest of the timed lineup includes sauce tasting and judging at noon, followed by the “Run for the Rosé” at 1 p.m. The always popular hot pepper eating contest, sponsored by Green Acres Farm, begins at 1:30 p.m.


 


 


All of the events are actually part of “Pasta Palooza,” with the main activity taking place being a performance by the Crimson Reign Band from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., which is sponsored by Jenkins Subaru.


 


The Cartoon Headquarters will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with DJ Vibin’ with Live and other local entertainers running from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. For those wanting a bite to eat, the Glen Elk Boys Food Truck and beverages will be on hand from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.


 


Admission to the 7 p.m. Pasta Palooza is $10. However, for those who purchased a “Cook-Off” sampling bag from earlier in the day will be admitted for free.
