New Restaurant Plans October Opening in Shinnston

According to social media posts, the former Papa Joe’s Famous Meats that recently closed its doors will be reincarnated under a new business name and model in October.

The recently closed business in Monongah will be opening a new business in the City of Shinnston. The new business is a restaurant and will be named Aloi’s Ristorante Rigatoni.

A Facebook post by Papa Joe’s Famous Meats, which said they had been open at the location in Monongah for three years, pointed to the failure to purchase the property as the reason for shutting down.

“We have been trying to purchase the land our building is on here in Monongah for the last 2 years.  We made one final attempt to purchase the property early in April and we were unsuccessful,” the post said.

The new restaurant in Shinnston will be a sit-down Italian restaurant. The post listed a tentative opening date of Oct. 2, depending on the variables that come with construction and opening a new business.
