LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Now that summer is here, and the kids are out of school, many Arkansans have been planning on heading out on the water to various lakes and rivers.
According to reports, there are over 120 swim beaches across the state that are all monitored and tested regularly by the Arkansas State Health Department.
However, if any of the water samples that are taken show signs of E. coli or other types of contamination, the department can close the beach to protect public health.
As of right now, several of those swim beaches are closed due to contamination.
