HealthNet Scrapped Due to Weather as Local Wreck Sees One Taken to Ruby and One to UHC by Ground

According to WDTV, one person was thrown from their vehicle during an accident on Shinnston Pike Monday morning.

The two-vehicle accident occurred near Spelter at approximately 9:45 a.m., according to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.

The person that was ejected sustained significant injuries. However, the weather prevented HealthNet from flying, so the person was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital by ambulance, deputies said.

A second person was taken to United Hospital Center with minor injuries.

Harrison County EMS, the Shinnston Fire Department, and the Spelter Fire Department assisted the sheriff’s office on scene.
