Firefighter injured, several people displaced in Phoenix mobile home fire

The fire happened on Sunday near 19th Avenue and Baseline Road.

PHOENIX — A firefighter was injured Sunday afternoon while battling a mobile home fire in south Phoenix that displaced five people, according to authorities. 

The Phoenix Fire Department said the fire happened at around 2:30 p.m. near 19th Avenue and Baseline Road.

The firefighter was hospitalized with an upper extremity injury. They are in stable condition, the fire department said in a news release.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the mobile home, according to the department.

“Firefighters quickly secured a water source, pulled handlines to the fire and put the flames out,” the department said.

Firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to other homes in the area.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
