A passenger vehicle crash on I-40 killed one person after colliding with a truck.
SELIGMAN, Ariz. — A person is dead after a crash Thursday morning, officials said.
Around 7 a.m., a crash between a commercial truck and a passenger vehicle left one person dead and other unidentified injuries on the westbound I-40 at milepost 99.
The crash scene was about 21 miles west of Seligman. Officials said a fire ignited in the passenger vehicle after the crash. The current status of anyone else involved in the crash was not immediately known.
As of Thursday morning, the westbound lanes of I-40 are closed and traffic is being turned around in the median to clear the backup.
Crews from the Seligman Fire Department helped with the scene and the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office offered traffic control.
