Corral Fire reported south of Flagstaff, firefighters working to contain

The Corral Fire was reported Monday morning about 20 miles from Flagstaff.

COCONINO COUNTY, Ariz. — A 20-acre wildfire is burning southeast of Flagstaff, about two miles east of Mormon Lake.

Coconino National Forest officials said the Corral Fire was reported Monday morning and resources have been deployed to contain it. Smoke will likely be noticeable in this area for some time.

Officials don’t expect any closures to be issued but residents have been advised to stay away from this area. Drivers taking Lake Mary Road should be cautious of firefighters working in the area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
