A truck fire on U.S. Route 50 Monday evening resulted in both eastbound lanes being shut down for a little more than half an hour.
The incident, according to the Harrison County 911 Media Log, took place at 9:10 p.m. The incident was situated at the heavily traveled Route 50 overpass of Interstate 79 inside the Clarksburg City limits.
The 911 log states that the brakes on a tractor trailer caught on fire, which led to the need to close down that section of roadway.
First responders with the Clarksburg Fire Department handled the fire. Law enforcement handled traffic issues in the area.
The 911 log said that along with the Clarksburg Fire Department and the Clarksburg Police Department responded to the scene to assist. WDTV reported that the Bridgeport Police were also on the scene. The log also said traffic returned to normal at 9:45 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
