She was a proud graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School. After graduating high school, Betty attended Fairmont State College, where she earned a bachelor of science in Education in 1951, and later graduated from West Virginia University in 1959 with her master’s degree in education. Betty was a caring and dedicated Educator within Harrison County for over 33 years. Throughout her career, she served as the Reading Supervisor, and as a 2nd Grade Teacher at Wilsonburg and Morgan Schools. Betty left a lasting impact on her students and was known to keep in touch, even after years had lapsed. She took great pride in her work and was a Diamond Member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed quilting, crocheting, camping, and attending black powder rendezvous. Her greatest joy was found spending precious time with her close friends and family.
