Ann Votaw, 74, of Bridgeport, passed away at Harmony at White Oaks on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, with her family and friends continuously by her side.
Ann was born in Springfield, Illinois on April 6, 1951, the only daughter of the late Kenneth Dawson Bradley and Bess Jean (Shipley) Bradley. Ann attended Murray State University where she met her husband of 52 years, Jeff, whom she married on August 5, 1972. Jeff preceded her in death on December 1, 2024.
She and Jeff moved to West Virginia in the mid-70s. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Beth and Bradley, around which her entire world revolved. She never missed a cheerleading competition or golf tournament and was frequently the chauffeur for her children’s teammates.
Ann was a hard worker, which she learned growing up on the family farm. She worked for many years at Lincoln High School whose students constantly stopped her at her grandchildren’s sporting events or at various events in the community to thank her for her guidance during their high school years or share a fond story.
In later years, Ann and her husband, Jeff, spent winters in Naples, FL accompanied by their dear friends, Mickey and Debbie, and Joe and Jolane, going to happy hours, playing cards, attending major league baseball spring training, and relaxing on the beach.
Ann’s favorite pastime was watching her grandchildren excel in sports, attending the majority of her grandsons, Zach and Luke’s, football, basketball, and baseball games, and her granddaughter, Presley’s soccer matches.
Left to cherish Ann’s memories are her daughter, Beth Rohrig and her husband Nate, and their children, Zachary and Lucas Rohrig; her son, Bradley Votaw and his wife Desirea, and their children Presley Ann Votaw and Arkadi Bowles and their dog, Sam; and innumerable friends. She is also survived by her brothers, Steve Bradley; and Mark Bradley and his wife Cindy.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kent Bradley of Santa Rosa, CA.
