Brian McLendon Joins UHC Medical Staff

Brian McLendon, MD., recently joined United Hospital Center’s General Surgery practice as an acute care surgeon. He began his medical career as a nurse, receiving an associate degree in nursing from Robeson Community College, Lumberton, NC.

He comes to UHC from a medical group in Reading, PA, where he was part of a five-person group providing elective and emergency surgery as well as endoscopic services at a 738-bed teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center.

A Navy veteran, Dr. McLendon was part of a Fleet Surgical Team. His extensive experience also includes assistant director of nursing; working as a shift supervisor in Emergency Services; assistant unit manager, Emergency Services; and staff nurse, Emergency Services, all at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, Lumberton, NC.

Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his excellence in caring for surgical patients, both as a civilian and as a member of the Navy.

He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and is board certified in surgery.
