Aaron Duenke was last seen near Washington, Missouri on an ice flow. Missouri State Highway Patrol said his body was found Sunday.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — The body of a missing Franklin County man has been found, three years after he went missing.

Friday, Missouri State Highway Patrol said the remains of 37-year-old Aaron Duenke was found on Sunday, April 13 in St. Louis County.

Duenke was last seen floating on a Missouri River ice floe near Washington, Missouri in December 2022.

At the time, MSHP and volunteers searched for weeks along the Missouri River but were unsuccessful.

MSHP said they located the remains on Sunday after a citizen reported finding the body along the Missouri River near Chesterfield.

In 2022, Duenke’s family said he often used the river for recreation and was familiar with the waters. He was seen on video on top of the ice and wasn’t in distress. No known witnesses saw him enter the river, but family members lost contact with him.
