Dubai – September 6th, 2025: Following a benign tumor surgery, a 46-year-old patient had been struggling with a facial deformity for two years that not only took away his ability to speak and chew but also to smile. He has finally recovered all these abilities with the help of an advanced jaw prosthesis developed at Medcare Dentofaces with the latest prosthodontic technology.

Nemr Mazen Nimer Altaher, from Jordan, was diagnosed with ameloblastoma, a rare but benign tumor of the upper jaw two years ago. In 2022, although the tumor was removed with life saving surgery, it left him with a huge facial defect that impacted his life greatly. Nemr stated, “I had survived the tumor, but I felt like I had lost myself. Eating food was a challenge, I could not participate in conversations, and smiling became something I actively avoided.”

Nemr’s search for more than just survival took him to Medcare Dentofaces, and Dr. Saman Fallahi, Specialist Dentist and Prosthodontist, reignited his hope for a life without sacrifices. Dr. Fallahi’s team deployed advanced digital imaging, precision 3D modelling, and custom casting technologies to craft and fit a removable cast partial denture. Not only was this designed to bring back the vital oral functions, but it also served to reshape Nemr’s face and rebuild his confidence.

“Technology was crucial in Nemr’s recovery,” said Dr. Fallahi. “The use of digital diagnostics, 3D modelling, and the precise manufacture of the prosthesis allowed us to solve Nemr’s issues seamlessly with a solution that worked perfectly and provided him with comfort. This is a great example of prosthodontic care at its finest and the difference it makes in post tumor care.”

Nemr experienced the benefits almost immediately. A few weeks after wearing the prosthesis, he joined family dinners, conversed without strain, and most importantly reclaimed his smile. Reflecting on the experience, he noted, “I never imagined I would get my life back. Losing the ability to do simple things like eat, speak, or smile happened so suddenly, and for a while it felt like my world had ended. The stares and the constant worry about being judged by people when they saw me weighed heavily on me. But today, I feel like a new person. I can face people again with confidence, and I have rediscovered the joy of living my life fully.” Nemr credited, “Medcare healed much more than my face; it restored my hope, self-esteem and the life I now anticipate.”

Dr. Fallahi emphasizes this case’s success as a testament to the prominence of sophisticated prosthodontic technology in cancer reconstruction. “After the health of a patient is restored following major surgical interventions for tumor removals, the next phase of the prosthetic restoration becomes critical. With the aid of technology, we can restore dignity, function, and self confidence; essential factors everyone should enjoy.”

Medcare Dentofaces continues to lead the way in pioneering new techniques in dental restoration and rehabilitation, providing advanced modern solutions to the most challenging restorative oral health cases. Innovations like these provide cancer survivors such as Nemr more than just post cancer treatment; they provide him with a new lease on life.
