AirAsia to Launch Penang – Shenzhen and Kota Kinabalu

 AirAsia Malaysia (flight code AK) has confirmed
that it will soon launch two new routes between Malaysia and
China.

The airline will launch four flights per week
between Penang and Shenzhen on 28 October 2024, and thrice weekly
flights between Kota Kinabalu and Shantou on 16 November 2024.

Flights between Penang (PEN) and Shenzhen
(SZX) will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays,
whilst the Shenzhen – Penang flights will take off on Tuesdays,
Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

From Penang, flight AK1690 is scheduled to depart
at 22:45, arriving in Shenzhen at 02:35, the following day. From
Shenzhen, flight AK1691 is slated to leave at 03:40 and arrive in
Penang at
07:30.

Flights between Kota Kinabalu (BKI) and Shantou
(SWA) will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Flight AK1524 is timed to leave Kota Kinabalu at 11:40
and arrive in Shantou at
15:10. From Shantou, flight AK1525 is set to depart at 15:55,
arriving in Kota Kinabalu at 18:55.

With the addition of the two new routes outlined
above, AirAsia
will operate a total of 33 routes to/from China.

All Malaysians are eligible for visa-free entry to
China for tourist visits of up to 15 days until the end of 2025.
