Abuse at Bétharram school went on for years with 'absence of action' from PM Bayrou

A parliamentary inquiry on Wednesday revealed that physical and sexual abuse at a Catholic school in France went unaddressed for years during the tenure of Prime Minister François Bayrou, who was education minister from 1993 to 1997. The report, issued by several French lawmakers, also highlighted ongoing violence in other French schools and accused the government of failing to take action.
