Over 40,000 registered voters who did not participate in the 2024 federal election in Pulaski County are set to receive postcards to update their voter status.
PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. — Over 40,000 registered voters who did not cast their vote in the 2024 federal election in Pulaski County will soon be receiving postcards from the Pulaski Circuit Court and County Clerk’s Office.
The reason behind the postcards is part of the ongoing effort to maintain accurate voter registration records for people in the county.
As part of Arkansas law and the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), each odd-numbered year, county clerks are required to maintain up-to-date and accurate voter registration information.
Reports show that of the 40,000 postcards that were sent out, 27,300 of them were confirmation cards and 13,000 of them were cancellation notices.
“We’re asking all residents to pay close attention to these postcards so that we can ensure that our records are accurate and that you have a great experience voting during election time,” said Pulaski County Circuit and County Clerk Terri Hollingsworth.
The confirmation cards that were mailed out request voters to verify their current address or that the change of address that was sent to the clerk’s office has been updated.
However, if a voter does not reply within 30 days, their registration will be placed in a removable status. They will then need to re-register at least 30 days before the next election where they plan to vote.
Voters are also eligible to update their information by contacting the Pulaski Circuit Court and County Clerk’s Office at (501) 340-8336.
