The UAE government is simplifying visa regulations by consolidating fines for overstaying visas. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security has standardized the penalty for visa overstay. Individuals, including residents, tourists, and visit visa holders, who exceed their allowed stay will now incur a daily fine of Dh50 instead of the previous Dh100.
This updated policy aims to promote adherence to visa regulations and encourage prompt renewal. Officials are encouraging expatriates and tourists to visit the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship websites as well as the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai to facilitate a more streamlined visa process.
To avoid unnecessary delays or penalties, individuals can review the service fees associated with various visa applications, such as issuance, extension, or cancellation.
Applicants now have the option to submit entry permit and visa requests through multiple channels, including the official website, the authority's smart application, the Dubai Now app, and authorized printing centers.
For those who prefer a traditional approach, visa applications and entry permits can still be submitted at registered printing offices under the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship or at accredited printing offices approved by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.
Upon approval, applicants will receive a confirmation message along with the original entry permit.
The New Visa Scheme for the UAE, introduced on October 3, 2022, by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security, brought forth rules and procedures coinciding with the official launch of the system
