Jetour has officially revealed its latest SUV — the Jetour T7, in China. It is a massive off-road luxury SUV with a 1,572hp quad-motor electric powertrain. Previewed last year as the Jetour Shanhai T7, the model has now been showcased under the name Jetour Zongheng G700 in the Chinese domestic market. However, for international markets, including the UAE, it is expected to carry the Jetour T7 moniker.

Jetour, a subsidiary of the Chery Group, has rapidly gained prominence in global markets, particularly in the UAE and other GCC nations. The UAE launch of the Jetour T2 in January 2024 marked a turning point, placing it among the best-selling Chinese SUVs in the country.

The updated Jetour T2 and the new Jetour T1 were revealed at an exclusive event in China in April 2024. Alongside these models, the brand also showcased the T5 concept, a hardcore off-road SUV, and teased the T7.

During the April 2024 event, Jetour provided a sneak peek of the T7 through a digital presentation. The teaser hinted at a powerful electric powertrain, advanced driver assistance systems, tank turn capability, and an extraordinary ability to travel on water. Fast forward to January 20, 2025, Jetour released a video demonstrating the T7’s capabilities.

The footage showed the SUV performing a tank turn, and moving across the surface of the water at speeds of up to 8.5 km/h — faster than its much-hyped rival amphibious SUV — BYD Yangwang U8. Finally, on January 22, 2025, Jetour officially unveiled the T7, as a part of a new luxury sub-brand in China named Zongheng.

The Jetour T7 features a bold and boxy design language that quite obviously harks back to the Jetour T2, especially at the front. However, its massive size is immediately apparent. The muscular wheel arches, rugged cladding, and massive wheels wrapped with off-road tyres

It is a tech-fest inside the SUV, with a massive touchscreen infotainment system at the front of the dashboard, and a screen that spans the entire width of the dashboard at the back acting as the instrumentation. It allows seating for six in utmost luxury.

Both versions are built on Chery’s advanced 800V platform, enabling fast charging. Jetour has also equipped the T7 with 6C fast charging technology, claiming a charge time from 20% to 80% in just six minutes. However, the specifics of the required charging infrastructure remain unclear.

The Jetour T7 isn’t just about raw power — it is designed for extreme off-road conditions. Its four motors can drive each wheel individually, therefore driving the wheels with the highest grip levels should be an easy task. With air suspension, the SUV’s ground clearance can be adjusted from 150mm to an impressive 350mm, ensuring superior off-road capability.

As already established, the Jetour Shanhai T7 from last year has now been revealed as the Jetour Zongheng G700. Zongheng is a new sub-brand of Jetour for the Chinese market that will retail luxury off-road SUVs.

On January 22, 2025, Jetour revealed three new products under the Zongheng brand:

Given Jetour’s growing success in the UAE, particularly with the T1 and T2, it’s highly likely that the T7 will make its way to the region. The UAE market has a strong demand for luxury SUVs, making the T7 a perfect fit. Whether it arrives in 2025 or 2026 remains to be seen, but excitement might soon start building around Jetour’s most advanced SUV yet.

The Jetour T7 is available in two powertrain options: a PHEV with a 2.0L turbo-petrol engine and dual electric motors producing a combined 684 hp, and an EREV with four electric motors generating 1,572 hp, supported by a 2.0L range extender engine.

The Jetour T7 features adjustable air suspension, increasing ground clearance from 150mm to 350mm. It also offers tank turn capability, advanced driver assistance systems, and can traverse water at 8.5 km/h for up to 40 minutes.

While Jetour has not confirmed a UAE launch date, given the success of the T1 and T2 in the region, the T7 is expected to arrive in 2025 or 2026 to cater to the growing demand for luxury off-road SUVs.

Very few SUVs have the capability to traverse water — the Jetour T7 and BYD Yangwang U8. Other specialized vehicles with similar capabilities include military amphibious SUVs and extreme off-roaders with sealed body designs.
