The event also featured the launch of several new EV models:
This year’s conference agenda featured more than 50 expert sessions across multiple stages. High-level discussions focused on EV adoption, energy integration, smart city readiness, autonomous driving, and the role of governments in accelerating sustainable transport.
One of the key sessions addressed policy frameworks for EV growth in the MENA region, led by transport ministers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. They outlined strategies to boost infrastructure and consumer incentives, all while supporting their respective national net-zero commitments.
Craig Stevens, our CEO, joined a high-profile panel discussion titled “From Better Mileage to Miles of Transformation: Meeting the Demands of the Modern Customer.” The session focused on how automotive brands are adapting to the evolving expectations of today’s tech-savvy and environmentally conscious buyers.
The conversation shed light on the growing importance of digital-first platforms, personalised experiences, and flexible ownership models—key to serving both city-based and long-distance EV users in a rapidly shifting mobility landscape.
Beyond the discussions, EVIS gave attendees a chance to experience electric mobility first-hand. The Outdoor Test Drive Zone was one of the event’s main attractions, where guests got behind the wheel of the latest EVs from global brands and local innovators.
Inside, the E-Circuit Zone provided an immersive tech showcase with interactive displays and live demonstrations of EV motors, battery systems, and power electronics.
The EVIS Awards 2025 were a major highlight of the closing day. The awards honoured excellence across eight categories, including innovation, design, sustainability, and academic contribution.
One standout was VoltEdge Tech, a startup from Singapore, which won the Best Startup Innovation award for its AI-driven charging network system. Another big winner was the University of Sharjah, which took home the Best Academic Research Project for its work on ultra-fast solid-state batteries.
The summit also served as a platform for major industry announcements. Among them:
“We are committed to building the clean transport ecosystem of tomorrow,” said Omar Al Shehhi, spokesperson for the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. “These projects are the building blocks of a zero-emissions future.”
