Aston Martin DB12 ‘Super Tourer’ Revealed — 34% More Powerful Than The DB11 It Replaces
Aston Martin DB12 revealed. Aston Martin calls their newest car a 'Super Tourer' and that is because it is powered by the most powerful engine in a DB yet.

Aston Martin has revealed the new DB12 grand tourer. 2023 is when Aston Martin celebrates two milestones. Firstly, it is the 110th anniversary of the brand, and secondly, it is the 75th anniversary of the ‘DB’ series. A new version of the DB series was due this year and it has now arrived in style.

The new Aston Martin DB12 was unveiled to a global audience on 25 May 2023 with each region hosting its own unveil event. Aston Martin UAE hosted a gala event at the Flat 12 Cafe in Dubai where it revealed what Aston Martin is calling ‘The World’s First Super Tourer.’

Touring cars, otherwise known as Grand Tourers or GTs have been around for several decades now. They are powerful cars that are comfortable enough to clock long distances at pretty high speeds and Aston Martin is one of the pioneers of this segment. In 1963, Aston Martin launched the absolutely gorgeous DB5 and since then, the DB series of cars have always been brilliant Grand Tourers. Now, with the DB12, Aston Martin seems to have coined the term Super Tourer.

Flashy, stylish, classy & gorgeous are some of the words that can be used to describe the Aston Martin DB12. In other words, its styling is typical of an Aston Martin. The signature Aston Martin grille is bigger and the sweptback headlamps are pretty big too. They come with unique LED DRLs inside them. The vents and creases on the long bonnet further add more style and charisma to the DB12.

When viewed from the side, the new 21-inch wheels immediately grab one’s attention. The twin-spoke design is classy and sporty at the same time. The flared wheel arches and the sloping roofline further add to the styling. The rear end is absolutely spectacular and those tail lamps are a work of art. The twin exhaust outlets further add to the grandeur.

The interior of a Grand Tourer is of utmost importance as it needs to evoke a sense of sportiness while also keeping the occupants in comfort. The Aston Martin DB12 more than just meets those requirements. The leather seats seem very comfortable at first glance. Most surfaces are covered with leather, making it a cozy space.

The steering wheel is nice & chunky and one should have a problem holding onto it for several hours while covering hundreds of miles. There are two 10.25-inch screens inside the DB12. One is a touchscreen for infotainment needs and it comes with all the fancy stuff including navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, etc. The other is the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel that displays all the information about the vehicle and so on.

An 11-speaker, 390-watt sound system is also present inside the Aston Martin DB12. Furthermore, the Aston Martin DB12 can be controlled via a smartphone app and this includes tracking of the vehicle, air conditioning controls, etc.

The DB series of Aston Martin cars have always been very fast and with each new model, a new level of power is unlocked. The new Aston Martin DB12 is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine that puts out 680hp and 800Nm! This makes it 34 percent more powerful than the DB11 it replaces.

These numbers are also higher than the old V12-powered version! These output numbers give it a supercar-like performance. 0-100km/h is done in just 3.5 seconds and the DB12 will go on to touch a top speed of 325km/h. Its ability to put the power down to the road too, is enhanced with an electronic rear differential. The onboard control units can decide whether the diff should be completely open or locked.

As a part of the standard equipment on offer, buyers will get a set of cast iron brake rotors. However, carbon ceramic rotors are an optional extra. Aston Martin claims the chassis is lighter and more rigid, allowing for better handling and an overall comfortable drive.

Pricing for the new DB12 hasn’t been revealed yet. However, we expect prices to start at around AED 1.1 million. Until prices of the new DB12 are revealed you can check out new Aston Martin cars for sale in the UAE and used Aston Martin for sale in the UAE.
