2023 Ford F-150 Shelby Centennial Edition Revealed — An 800hp Pickup Truck Capable Of Humiliating Sports Cars
With 800hp on tap, the Ford F-150 Shelby Centennial Edition is a speicla edition developed in honour of Caroll Shelby on his 100th birth anniversary.

The 2023 Ford F-150 Shelby Centennial Edition has been revealed. Based on the F-150 Lariat 4×4 Supercrew variant, the Shelby Centennial Edition is an homage to the legendary Caroll Shelby, celebrating his 100th birth anniversary. Keeping in line with the Shelby American tradition, the performance of the pickup truck has been turned up a few notches along with the addition of several other aesthetic and functional elements.

Shelby American is a high-performance vehicle manufacturer and tuner established by legendary race driver and tuner Caroll Shelby. Shelby has manufactured legendary cars like the Shelby Cobra, Ford Mustang GT500, Ford Mustang GT350, Ford GT40, etc. Now, Shelby has worked on the latest generation F-150 Lariat 4×4 Supercrew and turned it into a monstrous pickup truck that could put a few supercars and many sports cars to shame.

Powering the F-150 Shelby Centennial Edition is the renowned 5.0-litre Ford V8 engine. In its standard form, it puts out 400hp, and the same can be found under the bonnet of the Centennial Edition as well. However, if you want something a bit extra, you could opt for the optional supercharger kit which bumps the power up to 800hp.

Other additions that are sure to increase the performance and dynamics of the pickup truck come in the form of the Fox suspension system inspired by the F-150 Raptor. The Centennial Edition also receives large 22-inch wheels shod with BFGoodrich KO2 tyres. Well, the F-150 Shelby almost seems like it is ready to take on the Baja 1000 desert race.

Shelby American has made a few changes to the exterior to differentiate it from the standard F-150 Lariat. If the large alloy wheels with off-road BFG tyres don’t give you a clue, the Shelby badging on the front grille will surely tell you that this isn’t the standard truck. In addition, there are ram-air intake vents on the bonnet. You also get powered side steps.

Most of the features inside the pickup truck have been carried over from the standard F-150 Lariat. So, you still have the spacious interior, comfortable seats, loads of storage pockets, touchscreen infotainment, etc. However, there is ‘Caroll Shelby 1923-2023’ badging on the seats and this sets it apart from the standard variant. You also now get dual-tone upholstery, Shelby floor mats, a Shelby serial number, etc.

The 2023 Ford F-150 Shelby Centennial Edition is priced at $129,450 (AED 475,467) for the standard 400hp variant while the 800hp monstrosity comes with a price tag of $138,495 (AED 508,690). While the Centennial Edition hasn’t officially been launched in the UAE yet, we can expect quite a few of them to make their way to private dealerships and then onto the desert sands.
